>> COMMISSIONER BRENT CHESNEY? >> I WOULD MAKE A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MEDIATED SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF NUECES COUNTY AND THEN I WOULD LIKE A BRIEF DISCUSSION IF THERE IS A

SECOND. >> A MOTION AND A SECOND.

MAY I ENCOURAGE IT I THINK WE HAVE TO SAY THE AMOUNT SES

SPECIFIED OF 20 MILLION. >> I MAKE A MOTION ON NUECES COUNTY TO ACCEPT THE 20 MILLION MEDIATED SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT.

>> SECOND. RESTATE THE SECOND.

ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION, COMMISSIONER CHESNEY?

>> I WANTED TO MAKE A COMMENT. THIS IS, THIS IS A HUGE GAIN FOR NUECES COUNTY THIS IS SOMETHING WE SAT THINKING WE WOULD GET I DON'T KNOW THE CORRECT WORD THERE ON THE SHORED END OF THE STICK ON THIS WE HAD DAMAGE BY HURRICANE HARVEY AND THIS IS 2022 AND THAT WAS IN 2017 AND GETTING THIS SETTLED T IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AT THIS POINT NOT FOR THE STRENGTH OF THE COURT AND THE ENTIRE COURT DECISION TO MOVE FORWARD AND NOT TAKE IT AT THE TIME THAT WE STARTED THIS, WE HAD BEEN 1.5 MILLON DOLLARS ON MILLIONS OF CLAIMS. THE PROJECT THAT I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON IN MY PRECINCT FOR FIVE YEARS, THAT PROJECT ALONE IS COSTING THE COUNTY OVER $2 MILLION.

WE KNEW THAT WE WERE GETTING REALLY WALKED OVER AND NOT FOR THE DECISION OF THE COURT TO HIRE A LOCAL LAW FIRM.

[00:10:05]

JOHN MARTINEZ AND MARION RILEY, I DON'T MEAN TO LET ANYONE NOT -- MR. ROBINSON INVOLVED OR OTHERS WHEN WE MADE THIS IT WAS BECAUSE OF IN HILLIARD AND MARTINEZ WHO WORKED TO SHOW WE NEEDED TO HIRE A LOCAL FIRM. THAT WAS NOT THE RECOMMENDATIONS GIVEN TO US THAT WAS NOT A BAD RECOMMENDATION GIVER TO US WE MADE A DECISION WE WANTED SOMEONE WHO HAD SKIN IN THE GAME AND THAT WAS THAT THEY LIVE HERE. WORK HERE.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE WITHOUT THE ATTORNEYS BEING INCONTROLLED WE WOULD NOT BE HERE.

ALL OF THE STAFF, THE WORKERS. EVERYONE DEPOTSED.

THE COMMISSIONER, THE JUDGE. THIS A WIN FOR EVERYONE AND THE COURT DOES NOT AGREE ON A LOT OF THINGS SOMETIMES BUT FIGHTING HARD TO RECOVER WHAT IS OURS THE COURT HAS DONE THAT. AND I'M PROUD TO BE A PART OF THAT. IT IS A GREAT DAY TO 20 MILLION.

WE WERE GIVEN 1 POINT 5 MILLION THEY SAID THAT'S ALL THEY WOULD GIVE US. THAT'S 20 MILLION ABOVE 19.5 THAT IS A CHANGE. WE WORKED FOR YEARS AND GOT NOWHERE. THIS IS A COUNTY VICTORY.

COASTAL PARKS. INLAND.

THIS IS EVERYBODY WHO DOCUMENTED AND MADE SURE THAT WE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THIS IS SOMETHING WE CAN REIMBURSE OURSELVES TO SPEND TO MITIGATE DAMAGES ON OUR OWN AND THE TAXPAYERS SHOULD BE HAPPY KNOWING THE COURT DID NOT BEND OVER AND SAY WE'RE DONE AND ACCEPT WHAT WAS COVERED.

WE -- OFFERED TO US. WE GOT A SETTLEMENT THANKS TO THE COUNTY, THE LAWYERS, EVERYONE THAT WAS INVOLVED.

REN YOU GO TO AN ARBITRATION PANEL THAT HAS BEEN PUT TOGETHER A STRONG ARBITRATION PANEL, EVERYONE GETS NERVOUS THAT'S WHY YOU DO IT. YOU ARE GOING UP WITH THREE ARBITRATORS AND EXPERIENCED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE THAT PUTS THE FEAR IN EVERYONE THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T THAT.

WE APPRECIATE THEIR ROLE IN THIS.

I THINK I HAVE THANKED EVERYONE.

>> I WILL LET EVERYONE WHEN A HAVE SOMETHING OF THIS SIGNIFICANCE WE SHOULD ALL SAY SOMETHING IN RESPONSE.

>> AND VERY WELL SAID. >> WE HAVE 20 MILLION AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE WE'LL LOOK AT $12 MILLION MORE THAN THE 1.5 MILLION THAT WE HAD AT THE START.

AND THE BIGGEST THING FOR ME IS THE FACT THAT WE HAD LOCAL LAW FIRM HANDLE THE CASE. I PUSH A LOT FOR LOCAL.

GETTING CONTRACTS FOR US. PUSHING THINGS.

THE INTEREST IS IN THE COMMUNITY.

THE TAXPAYERS AND THE FAMILIES SO I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR A JOB WELL DONE. 12MILLION IS A LOT OF MONEY SO. I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE AND FOR HELPING US AND BEING A LAW FIRM MEANS A

LOT. >> THANK YOU.

>> COMMISSIONER MAREZ. >> THANK YOU ALSO FROM WHAT I HEAR WE GOT YOU IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE.

CONSIDERING THE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT YOU WERE GIVEN.

I'M SURE THE MONEY WILL COME BACK INTO COMMUNITY.

SO, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS AND FOR A JOB WELL DONE. THANK YOU AGAIN.

>> THANK YOU. >>> COMMISSIONER MAREZ ONLINE

WITH US TODAY. >> THANK YOU, JUDGE.

I WANT TO THANK THE TEAM THAT WAS PUT TOGETHER THAT HELPED US GET TO THIS POINT. WE KNOW EVERYONE WANTS RESOLUTION TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE AND DO THAT FAIRLY AND EQUITABLELY, THAT'S WHAT WE GOT TO TODAY.

[00:15:04]

I APPRECIATE OUR TEAM AND APPRECIATE THE GUIDANCE AND JUST THE PREP FOR ALL OF THIS THAT IT TOOK FOR US AND WE KNOW COUNTLESS OTHERS FOR ALL THE WORK.

>> IT TO ROUND UP BEFORE WE TAKE OUR VOTE COMMISSIONER DID A NICE JOB OF SHARING WITH THE COURT AND AUDIENCE AND THE PUBLIC SOME OF THE PEOPLE WE NEED TO THINK BUT THERE ARE A FEW MORE IF I CAN ADD TO THAT. THAT'S MELISSA VILLA, WE DON'T KNOW WHO THE PEOPLE ARE THAT REPRESENT THE COUNTY WHO REPRESENT THE MELISSA VILLA WAS INHERITED THE ROLE AND IT STARTED BEFORE WITH JENNY KROHN AND THEN TRANSFERRED TO JENNY DORSEY AND MELISSA VILA WE APPRECIATE THE OFFICE.

THEY HAVE TO COORDINATE WITH THE OUTSIDE COUNCIL.

WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT THE REAL THANKS TO ALL OF THE DEPARTMENTS. I WISH COULD YOU HAVE SEEN THE LITANY OF DOCUMENTS THAT HAD TO BE PRODUCED, REALLY GONE THROUGH FROM IT AND TO PUBLIC WORKS INLAND PARKS.

SCOTT CROSS IS HERE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF MAN HOURS THAT GO INTO THE PREPARATION OF SEEKING JUSTICE IT IS SO EASY WHEN YOU COME BEFORE A FORUM TO SAY WE'RE DONE. BUT IT IS ALL OF THAT CAPITAL, THE HUMAN CAPITAL THAT WENT IN AND TO THE EXPERT GENERATED AND THE STAFF ON TOP OF ALL THE OTHER DISASTERS THAT WE'RE MANAGING AS YOU SAID THIS WAS IN AUGUST OF 2017 AND LIKE SOME OF OUR DISASTERS IT TAKE SO LONG TO GET HELP TO THE PEOPLE. I LIKE WHAT YOU SAID THAT YOU THINK THAT YOU HOPE THAT YOU WILL SEE THE DOLLARS COME BACK TO HELP THE COMMUNITY. I'M CERTAIN THEY WILL.

THAT'S THE POINT OF JUSTICE. AND TO HAVE BEEN FAIRLY TREATED WHAT I BELIEVE HAPPENED WITH THE SETTLEMENT IS THAT FAIRNESS WAS ACCOMPLISHED, I THINK IT IS A TESTAMENT TO WHEN YOU PAY INSURANCE PREMIUMS THAT YOU GET THE BENEFIT OF THAT BAR GAPE, I'M GRATEFUL TO THE STAFF PREHENCE OFLY AND TO OUR LEGAL TEAM, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT THE LAW IS THAT IT DOES GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT. AND IN THIS CASE IT WAS A GOOD RESULT FOR OUR SIDE BUT ALL SIDES.

THAT'S WHAT THE SETTLEMENT SAYS TO ME AND SHOULD SAY TO OUR PUBLIC. CONGRATS TO NUECES COUNTY FOR HAVING THE COURAGE TO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT AND TODAY WE REAP THE REWARDS OF BEING ABLE TO SAY FOR ALL OF US, ALL THOSE IN

FAVOR SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE. >> COMMISSIONER CHESNEY A SECOND MOTION AS PART AND PARCEL OF FINISHING THE PARCEL OF THE SETTLEMENT. IT WOULD BE TO DO YOU SEE THE SECOND PIECE TO AUTHORIZE MYSELF AS THE JUDGE TO EXECUTE AND RELATED MATTERS I WOULD ASK FOR A MOTION TO COMPLETE THE

CIRCLE. >> JUDGE I WOULD OBVIOUSLY MAKE THAT MOTION AND GOES WITHOUT SAYING OUR LAWYER' REVIEW IT SAYS EVERYTHING BUT ONCE THEY DO THAT.

>> IT IS ALWAYS -- IT IS ALWAYS SUBJECT TO THE FORMALITY OF MAKING CERTAIN I'M SIGNING THE RIGHT DOCUMENTS.

I INTEND TO MAKE SURE EVERY I IS DOTTED AND T IS A 20 MILLION-DOLLAR SETTLEMENT. ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE; BOB AT THIS TIME THE PROCESS IS DONE BUT ON THE LINE WITH US WOULD YOU LIKE TO THANK ON BEHALF OF ALL OF US, WE HAVE SOME

[00:20:07]

GENTLEMEN THAT HAVE BEEN A PART OF THE PROCESS AND THANK YOU THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE AND FOR THE RESULT THAT THEY HELPED BRING. CAN I HAVE INTRODUCE THEMSELVES. THEY MAY HAVE A FEW WORDS.

>> YES, SIR. >> THEY MAY HAVE JUMPED OFF.

>> I THINK THEY JUMPED OFF. >> IN FINEBERG.

>> I'M SORRY. I HOPE CAN YOU HEAR ME.

>> IT IS AN HONOR TO HAVE YOU HERE WITH US TRULY.

>> I'M HONORED TO BE HERE I KNOW BITTER THAN TO FOLLOW WITH COMMENTS AFTER THOSE WONDERFUL WORDS FROM YOU, JUDGE.

I JUST WANTED ON BEHALF OF THE PANEL THE TRIBUNAL AUTHORIZE TO ARBITRATE THIS HOW PLEASED WE WERE AT THIS SETTLEMENT, THERE WERE ALL SORTS OF CHALLENGES AND DIFFICULT ISSUES THAT WOULD HAVE HAD TO BE CONFRONTED IN THE ARBITRATION AND THE FACT THAT THE PARTIES WERE ABLE TO REACH AN AGREEMENT, I THINK THAT IS IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE COUNTY.

I WAS FORTUNATE NOT ONLY TO OBSERVED A ADVOCACY BUT HAVE THE FELLOW ARBITRATORS IN THE TRIBAL CHARLES SINCLAIR AND ALAN CRAD DOCK AND I JUST WANT TO POINT OUT THAT IN THE MONTHS LEADING UP TO THIS SETTLEMENT, WE WERE ALL.

>> THE TRIBUNAL WERE OF ONE MIND IN MOVING THIS FORWARD.

THAT'S RARE IN ASH STATION. BUT IT WAS A VERY GODDED, EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSIBLE AND ADVOCATES REPRESENTING THE COUNTY AND THE INSURERS AND THE CHALLENGES THAT BOTH SIDES REALIZE THEY WOULD CONFRONT IN A HEARING HAD A LOT TO DO WITH THE ACCEPTSIBLE DECISION TOO REACH A FAIR SETTLEMENT AS ARTICULATED BY YOUR HONOR. I JUST WANTED TO THINK MY -- THE LAWYERS AND ESPECIALLY MY TWO FELLOW ARBITRATORS FOR EXHIBITING THE VERY BEST IN THE PROFESSION WITH THE RESULT THAT AS YOUR HONOR POINTED OUT I THINK MYSELF IS IN THE INTEREST OF THE COUNTY AND THE INSURERS I THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE IN THE MATTER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

>> THANK YOU, SIR. >> MR. FINEBERG SPOKE FOR MR. SINCLAIR BUT CHARLES IF WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY A FEW

WORDS. >> I HAVE NOTHING TO ADD TO THE KIND WORDS. THANK YOU.

>> , WE HAVE MR. CRADDOCK. >> I COMMEND THE ADVOCACY AS WELL IT WAS QUITE AS DISPLAY TO SEE HOW THE PARTIES WENT AND WORKED TOGETHER AND DID THEIR JOB.

YOU HAD ONE HECK OF A GROUP WORKING FOR YOU AT THE COUNTY.

>> THANK YOU, JUDGE. >> THANK YOU.

>> SO, COURT WITH THE CONCLUSION OF ITEM 2 A 2 I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE ON. WE DO ACKNOWLEDGE FOR BOTH THE PUBLIC AND THOSE IN COURT THAT WE WILL BE GOING BACK INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION BUT THAT'S BECAUSE WE HAVE ANOTHER ITEM

[3. Discuss and consider Jacobs Engineering's Opinion of Probable Cost to rebuild Bob Hall Pier in the same configuration as it was prior to Hurricane Hanna; discuss and consider additional design features/upgrades for Bob Hall Pier and funding source to cover those options.]

THAT WE NEED TO DEAL WITH BUT, FIRST, TO HONOR THE SPIRIT OF PUBLIC COMMENT AND THE OPEN MEETINGS I WOULD LIKE TO PURSUE 2 A 3 AT THIS TIME AND THAT'S TO DISCUSS AND CONSIDER JACOBS ENGINEERING'S OPINION OF PROBABLE COST TO REBUILD BOB HALL REQUIRE IN THE SAME CONFIGURATION AS IT WAS PRIOR TO HURRICANE HANNAH. AND WE'LL DISCUSS AND CONSIDERING DESIGN FEATURES AND UP GRADES FOR BOB HALL PIER AND UNDER TING SOURCE TO COVER THE OPTIONS.

THERE IS A BIT OF POETIC JUSTICE PERHAPS OR IRONY WHICH EVER YOU LIKE. HERE WE ARE HAVING TO DEAL IN THE COURT WITH HURRICANE HARVEY RECOVERY AND, YET, ANOTHER HURRICANE BRINGS US TO ANOTHER ITEM HURRICANE HANNAH IN FULL OF 2020. WITH THIS THE PERSON TO INTRODUCE IS, JUDGE, CAN I MAKE OPENING COMMENTS.

>> THEN WE'LL MOVE TO LEWIS AND ACKNOWLEDGE, BRENT I HAVE A

[00:25:02]

COUPLE OF PEOPLE WHO SIGNED UP.

>> JUDGE, THANK YOU. I PUT THIS IN AND APPRECIATE STAFF JUMPING ON THIS BECAUSE IT IS CAUGHT ME LATE.

THIS IS ON THE AGENDA IN TIME TO POST BUT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE MEETINGS STARTED THE REASON I WANTED TO GET THIS ON I WANTED THE COURT TO SEE THIS AND HERE THE COST

ESTIMATES PRIOR TO GOING OUT. >> AND THAT IS INVOLVED IN THE DECISION IN THE COURT HAS BEEN GENEROUS AND EVERYTHING WE HAVE DONE AND I HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK AT THE DESIGNS.

THEY ARE FEN OM UNTIL. THEY ARE GOING TO BE REQUESTS AND SURE ONCE THESE RENDITIONS GET LOOKED AT.

AND THAT TO LOOK AT DIFFERENT THINGS, MY INTENTION IS NOT TO -- THAT'S MY INTENTION T IS PUTTING THIS ON MORE INFORMATION NOT TO VOTE ON ANYTHING TODAY IT WAS FOR THE COURT TO SEE IT FIRST AND THE COSTS FIRST AND WHAT I'LL DO IS ASK FOR HOPEFULLY THE NCDC PUT TOGETHER AN RETURN OF INVESTMENT STUDY, NOT STUDY, ANALYSIS?

>> ANALYSIS, TO SHOW THE COURT THAT WILL BE A HUGE RETURN ON INVESTMENT IF THE COURT IS WILLING TO INVEST SOME MORE BECAUSE I THINK WHAT YOU WILL SEE IS THESE ARE GAME CHANGERS. AND THESE ARE -- WE WANT TO SEE WHAT THE PUBLIC RENDITIONS AND THEY WILL BE EXCITED AND YOU WILL BE EXCITED. THIS IS GOING TO BE A REQUEST FOR MORE FUNDS THAN WE CURRENTLY HAVE.

I WANT TO BE TRANSPARENT THAT'S WHERE I'M HEADING WITH IT.

I HAVE TO SELL IT HARD, YOU HAVE BEEN GENEROUS IN WHAT YOU PROVIDED BUT THIS WILL BE A GAME CHANGER FOR THE COMMUNITY AND I BELIEVE THE RETURN OF INVESTMENT WILL BE SIGNIFICANT BUT I DON'T HAVE THE NUMBERS TODAY BECAUSE I ONLY RECENTLY GOT THE COST SENT TO ME I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE COURT SAW IT FIRST. SO WE WILL HOPEFULLY UNLESS SOMEONE PUSHES WE WILL, WE CAN HAVE INFORMATION TODAY AND LET EVERYONE SEE THE COSTS AND DIGEST IT LET ME HAVE A CHANCE TO PUT TOGETHER AN ANALYSIS I DON'T WANT TO BE PUSHING FOR ANYTHING. NOT THE LAST MINUTE HAVING SAID THAT. LET ME SAY THAT SUPER JOB.

THEY ARE PHENOMENAL RENDITIONS.

I THINK THEY TOOK IN A LOT OF INPUT FROM THE -- THE COMMITTEE AND THE PUBLIC AND THE MEETINGS THAT WE HAD.

AND THE GROUP HAS DONE A SUPER JOB GETTING THIS OUT.

AND THERE WILL BE 6 P.M. VIRTUAL AND ONLINE AND IN PERSON. THERE IS ANOTHER ONE TOMORROW

AT 10 A.M. >> I'M NOT SURE IF I'M MISSING THAT. SAME LOCATION.

I THINK THAT -- THIS IS KIND OF A FUN DAY BECAUSE WE HAVE A SHORT AGENDA BUT THE ITEMS HAVE BEEN FRIENDLY AGENDA ITEMS SO FAR. AND WE CAN CONTINUE THAT.

THIS IS, I'M KIND OF PUMPED SO.

>> AND WE'LL LET YOU DO ONE MORE INFORMATIONAL PIECE JUST TO. YOU SAID IT FAST BUT IMPORTANT 6 P.M. TONIGHT; PAD TRAY ISLAND BAPTIST CHURCH AND 10 A.M. SAME LOCATION; YOU NEED THE LINK CAN YOU FIND IT ON NUECES CO.

U LET'S SAY THAT IT DOES NOT WORK TONIGHT FOR YOU AND TOMORROW MORNING YOU, WE'RE GOING TO SEND OUT A COMMUNITY SURVEY TO EVERYBODY AND, AGAIN.

NUECES CO IS A PLACE WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE SURVEY AND IT WILL HAVE THE PRESENTATION ATTACHED TO IT IN A MINI VERSION AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UP LOAD YOUR COMMENTS AS IF YOU WERE THERE TONIGHT. YOU CAN ANSWER THE QUESTIONS WHAT YOU LIKE AND DON'T LIKE. AND AS WELL BECAUSE OF THE SURVEY. WE FEEL LIKE WE ARE REALLY GOING IN A GREAT DIRECTION SEEKING COMMENT AND GET THE VIEWPOINT ON IT. THOSE ARE THE PIECES.

FOR THOSE WHO SIGNED UPJOHN LINE AND ON THE SHEET HERE.

[00:30:04]

YOU LET JACOBS ENGINEERING RUN THROUGH THIS AND CALL UPON YOU AND TO MAKE YOUR PUBLIC COMMENTS AND THEN WE CAN ASK QUESTIONS I JUST WANT TO ANNOUNCE THE FORMAT SO YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. LEWIS, THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU, JUDGE AND COMMISSIONERS.

I APPRECIATE THE TIME. >> JACOBS PUT TOGETHER A COST FOR WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DEVELOPING FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BOB HALL PIER, THE COST OF THOSE IS INCLUDED IN THE AGENDA ITEM. AND SINCE THE REPLACE NUMBER KIND IS JUST UNDER 16 MILLION, THAT WOULD BE AS IT WAS BEFORE. I WOULD SAY A STRONGER PIER SO ANOTHER CATEGORY 3 WOULD NOT DESTROY IT BUT IT'S NOT SIMILAR SHAPE LOCATION. EVERYTHING ELSE.

AND WE TOOK A LOOK AT WAY TO MAKE THIS PIER BIGGER AND BETTER. WE HAVE PREPARED THE COSTS THEY ARE IN THE AGENDA ITEM. TO START WITH THE PIER CURRENTLY IS 15 AND A HALF FEET WIDE. WE LOOKED AT INCREASING IT BY 20 FEET. INCREASE IT TO 20 FEET NESE 2.5 MILLION. AND THE PIER IS LONG.

SO IT IS 25% WIDER FOR THE LENGTH.

AND WE LOOKED AT EXTENDING THE PIER BEYOND THE DUNE SO THAT PEDESTRIANS WOULD NOT HAVE TO INTERACT OR CROSS THE TRAFFIC ON THE BEACH. THAT WAS 3.3 MILLION.

AND ADDED TO COST. WE LOOKED AT INCREASING THE FISHING AREA CREATING SOME BUMP OUTS, TWO OF THOSE.

THEY INCREASE THE AREA AND THE PUBLIC.

>> AND THAT COST WAS 3.2 MILLION. TOOK A LOOK AT ADDING SPACE RIGHT THERE BEFORE WE HAVE A PIER YOU GET UP.

AND INSEED OF WALKING OUT. AND SPACE AND CREATE PLACE FOR EVENTS. SAY THAT YOU WILL START A RUN OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. AND THERE ARE DIFFERENT OPTIONS THERE. THAT INCREASED AREA THAT IS FOUR AND A HALF MILLION. AND CREATING THE AREA FOR THE COUNTY AND THOSE INSTEAD OF PLACING IT ON THE PIER AND THE ENTRANCE TO THE PIER FOR THE PUBLIC.

WE'RE PLACING THAT OFF TO THE SIDE.

AND CREATES SPACE THERE AND CREATES RESTROOMS AND THE NON-PAID AREA. THAT WAS 2 MILLION.

WE'RE LOOKING AT CREATING A DEDICATED WATER LINE FOR THE PIER FOR F FIRE FIGHTING AND THE CONCESSION AREA THERE.

THAT DOES GET INTERRUPTED WHEN THE PARK WATER IS INTERRUPTED.

THIS IS A DEDICATED WATER LINE.

HALF A MILLION. I SAY RE-ESTABLISH A LINE YOU KNOW THAT'S KIND OF PEANUTS. BUT THAT IS A SUMMARY OF THESE ADDITIONAL THAT IS KIND OF BEYOND THE REPLACEMENT IN KIND. AND WE'RE WILLING TO ADDRESS ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE. I HAVE ONE OF THE GRAPHICS THAT WE'LL PREPARE TONIGHT THAT I CAN BRING UP TO YOU ALL AND SHOW YOU TO DESCRIBE WHAT EACH ONE OF THESE ELEMENTS ARE.

>> WOULD IT BE ALL RIGHT. YOU DIDN'T RUSH THROUGH IT BECAUSE THE COMMISSIONERS MAY HAVE BEEN LISTENING CAN WE RUN THROUGH THE NUMBERS ONE MORE TIME.

HERE IS HOW I HAVE IT. , IT IS HERE.

>> THE PUBLIC DOESN'T. JUST QUICK LIKE.

>> PUT AN UP. >> THAT IS GREAT.

>> CAN WE DO THAT,.UNFORTUNATE TO GET IT UP THERE.

>> IT IS THIS ONE HERE. >> AND IT IS JUST THAT THE

PUBLIC DOESN'T. >> SURE.

>> AND IS THERE A GRAPHIC THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE UP THAT

YOU WERE MENTIONING. >> I DO WANT TO ASK, AND COULD I ASK WOULD YOU ALL LET HIM TALK FROM THE PODIUM AND WOULD YOU HOLD THIS UP FOR THE CAMERA?

>> THANK YOU. >> MAYBE WE'LL PUT THAT ON

[00:35:01]

TOMORROW -- SO, THIS IS. NO WORRIES.

NO WORRIES. SO THIS IS THE HIGHLIGHT AND IF YOU WILL JUST POINT TO IT IF YOU CAN.

>> AND THE. >> MAYBE SCOOT CAN POINT AND LEWIS USE THE MIC: WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE THINGS THAT YOU SAID WHICH IS THAT LET'S TALK ABOUT THE MIDANGULAR THAT BROUGHT A COST OF 3.2 MILLION TO CONSIDER.

THAT'S THE MIDSPANS. >> RIGHT HERE.

THE ONE ON THE END HAS A DIFFERENT SHAPE.

>> THAT'S TWICE THE AREA OUT ON THE END.

>> AND TWICE THE SQUARE FOOTAGE THERE.

THAT ACOME DATES THE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LOOK OUT AS WELL AS THE

FISHERMEN. >> AND THAT'S TS ARE PERSON THEY REPRESENT WHERE THE PIER WAS 600 FEET WHEN FIRST BUILT AND IN 1952 OUT HERE. AND OUT HERE IN 1962.

>> CAN YOU, AGAIN REFRESH THE COURT'S MEMBER, LEWIS SORRY, I DON'T KNOW WHY I DO THAT I KNOW HOW ARE I APOLOGIZE, MY BAD.

>> COULD YOU REFRESH THE COURT'S MEMORY ON THE TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HERE AS FAR AS THE ABILITY TO WITHDAND THE TEST OF TIME IS DRAMATIC THE STORM SURGES AND THE HURRICANES AND AWFUL OF THESE THINGS CAN YOU

APPRECIATE THAT AS WELL? >> YES, SIR.

WHAT WE HAVE OUT THERE NOW IS TWO SQUARE PI PILES COURTING A PILE CAP ABOVE. WE'RE LOOKING AT A SINGLE PILE AT EACH CREDIT, LESS THINGS FOR SURFERS TO MIT HAVE A MONN PILE. 4 FOOD AND SO IT WOULD WITHSTAND THE CATEGORY 3 HURRICANE THAT HANNAH WAS.

AND SO, IT'S REINFORCED STEEL AND HANDRAILING WAS A BENEFIT.

WE'RE LOOKING AT CABLE IT KIND OF DISAPPEARANCE WHEN YOU LOOK

AWAY. >> I THOUGHT WE TALKED ABOUT A HIGHER STANDARD FOR MORE THAN A 3.

WE HAD THEM CLOSE AND THAT WAS A 4 PLUS.

WE GOT LUCKY DIDN'T GO DOWN ON THAT SIDE.

AND WE'LL -- DID WE CHANGE THAT OR.

>> I WAS MAKING A NOTE WE'LL LOOK INTO THE WAVES ARE DEPTH LIMITED WHETHER A CATEGORY 3 OR 4 OR A 5 THE WAVES WILL NOT BE HIGHER. THE STORM SURGE WILL GET LARGER, YES, SIR, WE ARE LOOKING AT HAVING THE PIER.

IT WOULD BE SUBMERGED UNDER WAVES.

DURING ANNA. THE PIERS THAT WE HAVE, IN MY OPINION. THEY HAVE WITHSTOOD A LOT OF SURGE IS WHY WE'RE IN THIS BOAT.

WE NEED TO LOOK AT THIS I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN EVERYONE OR EVER IN MY LIFETIME. SO, I KNOW THAT, YOU KNOW, YOU NEVER KNOW BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE WE CAN SIGH WE DESIGNED THIS FOR SOME SIGNIFICANT SURGES AND GOVERNOR AND WHATEVER WE DO WE CAN REI SURE THIS IS REALLY WELL DONE; WE CAN DEVELOP IF WE WANT TO GO TO A GER 4 OR 5.

THIS IS WHAT EXTRA MAY BE REQUIRED.

>> OKAY. >> THAT WOULD BE GOOD TO HAVE AS AN ALTERNATIVE SO THE COURT CAN LOOK AT THAT.

>> THEN TO DISCUSS I THINK IT IS ONE OF THE ISSUES THAT IS MOST GERMANE AND, SCOTT, CAN YOU TAKE THE PODIUM.

PARKING AND ADA IS IMPORTANT. WHEN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT WHAT WE THOUGHT AND WHAT IS REAL. WE THOUGHT WE WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK WITH A PARKING LOT WHERE IT WAS BUT MAKE IT STRONGER, CONCRETE, THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE BUT WHAT IS POSSIBLE IS A GREAT PARKING LOT, USING STATE OF THE ART MATERIALS BEHIND THE SUNS COULD WE DON'T. LIKE YOU SAID.

COMMISSIONER LET'S NOT REPEAT IT BUT LET'S BUILD FOR THE

[00:40:01]

SMART RESILIENCY. SCOTT, TALK ABOUT THE PROS OF THAT AND THE DISADVANTAGE WHICH REQUIRES US TO EXPECT THE PARKING LOT TO THE FILE AND THAT HAS A ADDITION.

>> WHEN WE LOOKED AT THIS I HAD THE IDEA OF REPURPOSING THE OLD PARK OF THE RV PARK. YOU SAW THE OLD SECTION BEFORE WE PILL THE NEW -- BUILT THE NEW ONE.

THERE IS A PAVED MPSAN ROAD THAT GOES THROUGH THE DUNES T IS ALMOST DIRECTLY A NOOK OFF. YOU KNOW WHAT IF WE CAN FIND A WAY TO EXTEND THE PIER AND COME DOWN THE RAMP BEHIND THERE.

HE ELIMINATE THE ISSUES WITH ACCESSIBILITY AND PARKING OWN SURVEYS ON THE BEACH. NO MATTER A WHAT IS IN THE EROSION PLAN THAT'S A SUPPLEMENT TO THE BEACH MEASUREMENT PLAN I WANT TO THROW THAT IN THERE, THE TEXAS ADMINISTRATIVE CODE IS WHAT IS HURTING US THE MOST, WE'RE TRYING TO REBUILD THE PARKING LOT ON THE BEACH.

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS 100% REBUILD AFTER IKE.

THERE WAS AN EXCEPTION MADE FOR THAT BUT THAT EXCEPTION IS NOT ALLOWED RIGHT NOW. AT ONE POINT THE JUDGE CHALLENGED ME LET'S GET CREATIVE AND AGAINST THE TIDE HERE. AND I THOUGHT THROUGH THIS.

I STRUGGLED WITH IT FOR MONTHS BECAUSE I LIKED, THERE HAS TON A FLAW HERE. I WAS GOING BACK AND FORTH.

THE ONLY I CAME UP WITH IS THAT I WILL LOSE A SMALL AMOUNT OF REVENUE IN THE OLD SECTION BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE TO USE IT BUT THAT'S ONLY GOING TO FLATTEN FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME AND THE GABES FROM THE PIER WILL OUTWAY THAT.

>> THERE IS A WAY WE CAN REPURPOSE THAT PARKING LOT AND ONE WAY OF INGRESS AND EGRESS THAT IS STATE AND APART FROM THE RV TRAFFIC. THE RIGS TURNING THAT WOULD BE A HEADATION, THE ISSUE I HAVE, I HAVE A CALL TO THE GENERAL LAND OFFICE TO TALK THROUGH THIS.

ONCE WE PUT THE LOT BEHIND THE DUNES.

MIND YOU THAT THE BENEFIT TO THAT IS THAT IT WILL REDUCE A LOT OF MAINTENANCE TIME AND COST IN COASTAL PARKS.

I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT GETTING THE SAND OFF THE WHERE IT IS TIDE DRIVEN AND WIND DRIVEN. IT IS AT THE WORSE TIME ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND WE SHUT ONE SIDE DOWN AND CLEAR AND OPEN UP THE OTHER AND DO THE SAME THING.

WE CAN GET EQUAL TO THE SAME AMOUNT OF PARKING IF WE DO THIS. NOW IT TAK TAKES ALL MY UTILITIES IF WE BRIDGE FROM UNDER THE CON DUNE.

I HAD THIS PROBLEM WORKS HE HAD A SEWER LINE THAT COLLAPSED THAT I HAD TO JUMP THROUGH THE GLO AND RE-ESTABLISH IT AND TO FIX THE SEWER LINE. ALL THAT INFRASTRUCTURE IS NOT UNDER THE CRITICAL DUNES WHICH ARE PROTECTED.

IT ELIMINATES THE PERMITTING. >> THAT HE LOVE THAT.

THAT'S ONE THING. >> THE REQUEST EGGS THAT I ASKED YOU. THE ONLY -- LOVE IT, THE CONCERN I HAVE MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT ON THE ADC, THAT'S A

LONGER. >> ONCE WE GET.

>> IS THERE A WAY TO INCRES THE ACCESSIBILITY.

>> THE WAY THAT WE HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH ON THIS, IF YOU CAME BACK OVER THE BEACH BECAUSE WITH THE SINGLE CONCRETE PILE YOU CAN SPAN UP TO 60 BEAT WITH A BEAM.

IF WE DO THIS. WE WOULD NOT HAVE A DEEM IN THE

STREET. >> NOT THE LENGTH.

AND. >> A LONGER WALK AND CRUTCHES.

ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT WHERE IT IS NOW.

AND WITH DISABLINGTIES. >> THE SAME AND RIGHT NOW ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE DUNE, YOU HAVE A LONGER FLAT SURFACE TO

GET TO WHERE THE AREA IS. >> LET'S REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE AND DRIVE ON THE BEACH.

THERE IS ANOTHER ADA RAMP. ONCE YOU BRING THAT.

[00:45:05]

>> THAT'S THE POINT OF ACCESS. >> THERE IS ANOTHER RAMP, BRENT. THAT WILL EYE SIFT PEOPLE WHO WANT TO DRIVE UP THERE. YOU GET OFF THERE.

>> YOU USE THE RAMP RIGHT TO THE FACILITY SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO JUST HAVE THE PARKING IT IS TWO FOLD AND FORCE MULTIPLIES ACCESSIBILITY FROM THE BEACH AND FROM THE ACTUAL PARKING LOT. CAN YOU SEE THAT.

>> THAT'S IMPORTANT. , IT'S NOT HERE IT IS A SIMPLE PLAN. THIS IS LOCATED.

>> YOU WILL SEE THAT TONIGHT. >> AND ONE OF THE THINGS I ASKED TO BE ADDRESS. THANK YOU.

>> TO CONTINUE ON WHAT WITH MY DISCUSSION WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT AND ME AND THE DESIGN TEAM WE HAD A SITE VISIT.

WHAT IF WE CANNOT AFFORD TO DO THAT.

WE NEED IT TO END BUT WE NEED A SURFACE THAT IS ACCESSIBLE FROM THE PARKING LOT YOU GO ONE FOOT A DROP OFRY 20 AND THAT SLOPES GREATER TO LESSER. KEEP CONSISTENCY WITH THE SLOPE HOW COULD YOU PAVE ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE PAVE AND NOT BE A BARKING LOT. AND IF WE HAVE TO DO.

THEN WILL MAKE SOME CONCESSIONS ON US WE ELIMINATED THE NON-PERVIOUS SURFACE BUT THE OTHER PROBLEM THAT I HAVE HEADACHES OVER. MAYBE I THINK ABOUT IT TOO MUCH. YOU HAVE THE TRAFFIC UP AND DOWN THE BEACH. YOU HAVE THAT PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC GOING. HOW IS IT SAFE AND MANAGEABLE.

THERE ARE WAYS I'M THINKING THROUGH THE LITTLE THINGS.

THAT'S THE THING THAT WILL BITE YOU AFTER A WHILE.

>> YES, SIR. >> MAYBE YOU HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT IT. DO WE HAVE AND AND THE BOARDS.

AND WE'LL PUT THEM AND THE STATION.

>> AND ADD FISH FOR THE TROUT AND ONE AT THE END.

WE HAVE HAD TWO CLEANING STATIONS.

>> MORE THAN 2 AND. >> AND WHAT IS THE BESTAND WE NEED TO MAKE SURE WE LOOK AT THAT.

>> THAT'S A GREAT IDEA. >> REGISTER THAT WAS A TOWN HALL COMMENT. I'M TRYING TO LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO I MADE THE COMMENT TO THE AD HOC FOLKS.

A PIER IS A PIER IS A FISHING PIER.

IF WE HAVE THE THINGS DOWN AND SIMPLIFY AND SCALE BACK AND WORK BACK IDEAL YOU GET TO THE RESTAURANT AREA AND PUTLE BELLS AND WHISTLES THERE. KEEP IT SIMPLE WHATEVER YOU BUILD I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT AND MAINTAIN IT.

IT COSTS MONEY SO, I DON'T WANT TO PUT US IN A SITUATION I HAVE TO COME IN I HAVE THE PLAZA AND NEED TWO MORE, I WILL ASK IF I NEED IT BUT IT IS ABOUT OPERATIONS FOR ME.

HOW DO WE MAINTAIN IT. BUT THERE IS ONE OTHER THING I WANTED TO ADD THAT, I DON'T NOSE, SCOTT HARRIS SENT THIS IN RESPONSE TO AN E-MAIL THAT THE COMMISSIONER SENT AND I GOT COPIED ON IT I HAVE BEEN TALKING WITH SCOTT.

HE WANTED TO MAKE SURE, WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE NUMBERS THAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT IS CONSTRUCTION.

IT'S NOT THE SOFT COSTS AND OTHER STUFF.

THEY PLAN THIS AS THE PROGRAM MANAGER THEY RAN THIS.

IF YOU LOOK HERE, YOU WILL SEE A LIKE REPLACEMENT THEY FIGURED UP HERE. I WANTED TO POINT THIS OUT.

ON THE LOW, IF YOU SEE THE COLUMN THAT SAYS LOW, OKAY.

[00:50:03]

TOTAL CONSTRUCTION FEES AND OTHER SOFT COSTS IS 19401530.

THAT'S LOW. A A MILLOVER OVER WHAT WE IS BUDGETED NOW. LOOK AT THE HIGH, ARE YOU 4.7 SHORT OF WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO RECOVER RIGHT NOW.

NOW THE HIGH HAS A 25% CONTINGENCY BUILT IN THROUGH ALL THE ITEMS THAT JACOBS HAS OPINED.

SO, I DON'T RECOMMEND PUTTING OUT A CONTINGENCY.

I HAVE SEEN US GET BURNED WITH THAT.

THAT'S WHAT THE LAND HAS COME UP WITH.

AND SCOTT HARRIS IS ON HERE IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS.

TECHNICALLY BEFORE YOU CONSIDER ANY ADDITIVES ARE YOU 1.4 UNDER WHAT YOU NEED OR 4.7 UNDER DEPENDING WHETHER YOU WANT A

CONTINGENCY OR NOT. >> THIS IS GOOD.

THIS IS WHAT WE CALL THE REALITY CHECK, RIGHT.

>> YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURELY THAT YOU HAVE THE REAL DOLLARS TO

BUILD, YOU KNOW. >> THEY BUILT TIME IN THERE.

I MEAN WE CAN WORK AROUND TUFTERLE NESTING SEASON BUT THE DEMOLITION FEINGS THEY ARE GOING FORTHRIGHT NOW.

AND THE FEE FOR LAND UNDERNEATH THE PROGRAM FEE THEY ARE UNDER WILL COVER THEIR FEE ON THE PARKING LOT STUFF IT IS ABSORBED IN THERE. WE GET TWO FOR ONE BUT THEY CALCULATED STOP DAYS FOR TURTLE NESTING SEASON IF THEY HAPPEN.

WHAT DO THEY COST? THEY FACTORED IN THE ALL THE ELEMENTS THAT COULD PUT IN A DELAY.

THAT'S THE REALITY STUFF. >> THAT'S THE POINT OF THE MANAGEMENT ITSELF TO GET YOU REAL NUMBERS THAT YOU CAN RELY ON. ONE OF THE THINGS WE TALKED ABOUT WAS LET'S SEE HERE. ON THE -- ON THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND YOU HAVE THINGS TO BE DETERMINED LIKE THE LIGHTING AND SO WE'LL TALK ABOUT SOME OF THOSE THINGS LATER I GUESS THIS EVENING ABOUT SOME OF THE OPTIONS BUT FOR RIGHT NOW, WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO SHOW TONIGHT, LEWIS, THE COURT HAS SEEN, SAVE AND ACCEPT I WANT TO BE OPEN WITH THE COURT.

ONE PHOTO THAT SHOW AS NIGHT TIME VERSION YOU JUST SORT OF TOOK YOUR RENDERING AND MADE IT SO THAT PEOPLE CAN SEE WHAT IT WILL LOOK LIKE AT NIGHT. I DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE ANYTHING FOR THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS THE TIME VERSION THAT YOU HAVE SEEN DAY TIME. IT IS DIFFERENT AT NIGHT TIME.

THIS IS DIFFERENT. >> THIS IS THE NIGHT TIME VERSION. EVERYTHING JOAN BY JACOBS HE HAVE SEEN OR IN YOUR PACKET OUT THIS IS THE RENDERING FROM THE VERSION AT NIGHT IT MAKES ASSUMPTION THAT YOU ARE LOOKING APT A PUBLIC PLAZA AND THAT YOU THAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT THE ICON THAT SAYS BOB HALL PIER, ET CETERA.

I OF THE JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE YOU SAW THAT.

THIS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT IS NEW.

FROM THE PRESENTATION THAT YOU HAVE SEEN BEFORE.

THERE MAY BE ROTATIONS THAT ARE DIFFERENT.

YOU MAY HAVE A DIFFERENT SIDE VIEW OF CERTAIN THINGS.

>> THIS IS ACTUALLY NEW. >> THERE ARE THREE RENDITION BEES THAT YOU WILL SHOW. ANYONE HASN'T GOTTEN THOSE.

WE HAD THEM PRESENTED BEFORE. THIS IS A NEW ONE LIKE THE JUDGE SAID I WANT TO MAKE SURE THE COURT SEES EVERYTHING FIRST, COSTS, EVERYTHING0 SO THAT THEY CAN KEEP YOU UP TO

SPEED ON EVERYTHING. >> THANK YOU.

>> YOU DON'T HAVE TO YOU CAN SEER I DIDN'T MEAN FOR YOU TO BE THE WHOLE TIME. THE THING I WANTED TO ADDRESS OBVIOUSLY AND I APPRECIATE, I LOVE SCOTT BECAUSE HE'S GOING TO BE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE THINGS THAT MATTER.

PRODUCE A RATE OF RETURN. PUT THAT UP FRONT.

BE MINDFUL AND THAT THE PIECE AT THE END I CALL IT THE MODERN

[00:55:01]

VERSION OF THE T. IT'S NOT A VERSION ANY MORE.

BUT THAT POLYGON REPRESENTS WAS DOES LOOK LIKE A STRONGER FEATURE AS OPPOSED TO THE T. REMEMBER THE T FELL OFF IN THE WATER. THAT STRUCTURE FELL OFF.

WE ASKED CAN YOU SIGN THAT SO THAT FIGURE WOULD BE MORE ABSORBENT OF THE PHYSICS OF THE INTENS WAVES THAT COME AND THE STRUCTURE THAT YOU DESIGNED YOU BELIEVE HAD THE ABILITY MITIGATE BRETTER THAN THAT LONG RECTANGLE.

AM I SUMMARIZING CORRECTLY? >> THAT'S A THING FOR IT BEING SHAPED LIKE THAT A STRONGER STRUCTURE.

I WOULD LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT THE LIGHTING THAT YOU SEE THERE, ON THE NIGHT VIEW IS INCLUDED IN THE COST.

THAT'S RIGHTING FOR THE PIER. RESTAURANT.

THAT'S IN THE COST. ASSUMING A BASIC LIGHTING.

AND I SAY BETTER LIGHT LIGHT. AMBIENT IF WE TONIGHTED TO LIGHT THE LENGTH. THAT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL

CO COST: >> HOW ABOUT GENERAL COMMENTS MAY ED THEM WAIT. WOULD YOU MIND SITTING DOWN AND LET ME GO TO THE PUBLIC COMMENTS.

ADD BE AVAILABLE FOR QUESTIONS. WE NEED TO GIVE IT A CLEANING.

IF YOU WANT TO COMMENT RAISE THE VIRTUAL HAND ICON AND WE'LL

CALL ON YOU. >>> GOOD MORNING.

>> AND I DID -- I PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER THAT THE AD HOC PUT TOGETHER. IT IS SO YOU HAVE AN IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT IT IS HARD, THIS IS NOTHING FANCY COMPARED TO WHAT JACOBS HAS UP THERE. BUT SOMETHING THAT WHEN THEY WERE ASKING ME THE EXISTING CONCESSION NAIR I WOULD LIKE TO SEE I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO TALK TO LEWIS, HE HAS THAT AS AN OPTION THAT WILL BE UP THERE.

AND JUST WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD WORK WITH THE SECOND FLOOR WHAT PEOPLE GO UP FOR THE VIEWS. I WAS CHANGING THE VIEW A BIT ON THE BILLING BUT HAVING A NICE PART OF WHAT I FOUND UP THERE IS THAT IT GETS VERY HOT UP THERE IF THERE IS NO SHADE.

WITHS DOORS BEING OPEN. WE TRY TO SHADE THE BACK AREA.

WHAT YOU SEE ON THE FIRST PAGE IS IT WOULD LOOK LIKE FROM THE BEACH SIDE. IT'S NOT FANCY IT IS THE WAY IT IS FROM THIS POINT. THE OTHER THING IF YOU LOOK ON THE SECOND PAGE AND MORE THE THIRD PAGE.

THE THIRD PAGE IS SHOWING THE BUILDING THAT'S ALREADY THERE THAT'S GOING TO STAY THE BOTTOM LEFT THAT LOOKS OPEN.

THAT WOULD BE WHERE THE EXISTING DINING ROOM AND BAR WAS. THAT'S THE BUILDING THAT, AGAIN. THE SECOND SECURITY THAT WAS BUILD WOULD STILL BE THERE REMOVING THE LINE AND DOING A FLAT ROOF IT CAN OPEN FROM THE SECOND FLOOR FOR SEATING AND EVENT SPACE. THAT'S WHAT THAT IS T IS KEEPING THE EXISTING BUILDING AND MOVING THE ROOF AND HAVING A OVERLOOK. EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE AND SHADED BY THE BUILDING. THE SUN SETS ON THE BEACH SIDE SO NOW YOU HAVE THE STRUCTURE AND STILL HAVE THAT AREA, THAT LITTLE OPEN AREA THAT JACOB'S HAS AS OPEN SPACE.

BUT I WANTED TO GO TO THE LAST YOU THROUGH NUMBERS THE LAST PAGE WHAT MY PROJECTIONS WOULD BE FOR THE REST SPART OF IT.

AND THE SECOND FLOOR IF YOU WATTS WITH JACOBS IT WOULD GOVERNMENT AREA TWO MILLION. ONE OF THE REASONS I REQUESTED FOR THE SECOND LEVEL IS THAT NOW WITH THE CLOSE AND A LOT OF

[01:00:01]

PEOPLE WANTED TO HAVE EVENTS UP THERE.

WE DEPENDENT HAVE THE ROOM WHETHER IT BE WEDDINGS AND WHETHER IT IS CONCERTS. WHETHER -- ANY TYPE OF PARTY, FUNDRAISER. THEY WANTED FUN RAISER'S MEETING SEPARATISTS. I SPOKE WITH A COMPANY AS YOU GET OFF THE FERRY. ALL THEY DO IS BIG PARTIES AND WEDDINGS. THEY ARE FRIENDS WHO WERE G GRACIOUS TO GET ME SEE FROM START TO FINISH, AND WETTINGS AND MAYBE WE CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THEM.

WE ARE A DESTINATION WITH YOU. WE CAN SEE IT BEING THE SAME OR MORE BECAUSE YOU'RE ON THE BEACH I KNOW THAT PEOPLE ASK ME DAILY FOR THINGS LIKE THIS. SO, BASICALLY, THEY WOULD DO AN AVERAGE OF BECAUSE OFF SEASON DAILY, 4-5 MEETINGS PER WEEK.

I HAVE NUMBERS WHICH IS THREE PER WEEK SO I CAN BE CONSERVATIVE. I WANTED TO SHOW YOU THAT THOSE WERE THE 2019 GROSS SALES FOR 2019.

THE 266-4668. BEFORE HANNAH HIT, OURSELVES AND 2020 WERE THE NEXT NUMBER LOW IT.

THAT WATTS BEING SHUT DOWN FOR A WHILE.

SO, WE WERE PRETTY MUCH BACK ON TRACK AND THEN THE MONTHS THAT WE WERE OPEN, BACK UP. WE WERE BEATING TO HERE BEFORE. THAT WAS BEFORE COVID.

WE WERE OPEN NAIR. THAT IS ON THE SITUATION.

WE WILL GET TO BE CLOSE TO .2.7 MILLION MAYBE I WOULD PROJECT IT IS MORE LIKE 3 MILLION FOR 20020 IF THE HURRICANE HAD NOT HIT. AS I MENTIONED.

MANSIONS BY THE SEA AVERAGES 4 TO 5 WEDDINGS A WEEK.

THE PROJECTIONS WITH 125 PEOPLE AT 160 PER PERSON WHICH IS MATCHING WHAT THEY CHARGE. THAT INCLUDES FOOD, ALCOHOL.

DECORATIONS. FLOWERS.

MUSIC, SET UP, ET CETERA. SO ARE YOU LOOKING AT $20,000 PER WEDDING, THAT'S A CONSERVATIVE NUMBER.

IF WE DID THREE A WEEK. AND THEY'RE DOING 4 TO 5 DOING THAT. AT 3.

THAT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL 3 MISSILEON DOLLARS OVER 3 MILLION WE CAN GENERATE OFF THREE WEDDINGS A WEEK.

THAT'S DOUBLE. DOUBLING WHAT WE'RE DOING THAT WOULD DOUBLE WHAT WE PAY AS OUR RENT.

IF WE DID THAT. IT WOULD TAKE FROM 13 TO 14 YEARS TO MAKE BACK THE $2 MILLION.

AT THAT RATE OF RETURN. I COVERED EVERYTHING.

LIKE I SAID. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I WANT TO MENTION IS OF THOSE WEDDINGS THEY TOLD THEY THEY DO 70% WERE OUT OF TOWN PEOPLE. 35% OF THE WEDDINGS THEY DID WERE OUT OF STATERS. I WAS IN WEDDING THERE DURING THE WEEK ON A THURSDAY NIGHT. 125 PEOPLE FLEW IN FROM NEBRASKA. WHAT WILL THAT DO FOR THE ECONOMY THE COUNTY WILL WIN. THEY ARE LOCAL.

WE'LL HAVE MORE HEALTH THEY WILL NOT MAKE AT MICHAEL MAZE EVERY NIGHT. THEY ARE HERE.

GO TO VISIT THE AREA ATTRACTIONS.

I HAVE SPOKEN TO VISIT CORPS COMPANY THIS WOULD BE HUGE FOR OUR ECONOMIC -- OUR ECONOMY HERE LOCALLY.

WE'RE LOOKING AT ADDING SHUTTLES TO GO BACK AND FORTH FROM THE BEACH TO DOWNTOWN AND SENDING PEOPLE OVER TO NORTH EACH. WE'RE TRYING TO GET THE AIRPORTS TO THROW. MORE PEOPLE FLYING INTO OUR CORPUS CHRISTI AIRPORT SO, THAT WILL HELP WITH THAT INFRASTRUCTURE. SO, I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO SEE TWO 2 MILLION MORE FOR A SECOND FLOOR CAN DO FOR OUR COMMUNITY. THAT'S IT UNLESS YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE'LL HOLD, MEGAN AND MARVIN I'LL ACKNOWLEDGE FROM YOU, I'LL GO TO STEVEN LESTER AND THEN TO MEGAN AND MARVIN. , THANK YOU, MAE TOUCHED ON EVERYTHING. I'M ATHE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE RESTAURANT FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS WE HAD PEOPLE CAN WE BOOK

[01:05:03]

OUR EVENT HERE. , WHO DOES NOT WANT A WEDDING ON THE BEACH, TO HAVE THAT SPACE TO PRODUCE THAT WOULD BE GREAT AND DRAW PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER.

IT IS GOING TO FILL OUR ROOMS AND IT IS GOING TO, YOU KNOW, PUT PEOPLE THAT ARE GOING OUT INTO OTHER RESTAURANTS OTHER PLACES WE HAVE AVAILABLE THE LING TON.

THE AQUARIUM, PEOPLE THAT THEY DON'T GET TO SEE FOR US TO HAVE THIS SPACE AND TO PRODUCE THAT AND GIVE THE MEMORIES IS WORTH IT. THAT'S ALL I HAVE.

>> THANK YOU, STEVEN. >> NOW TO MEGAN AND ASK THAT YOU UNMUTE. , THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME TAKE A MOMENT HERE. I'M AT CAPTAIN KIDD DRIVE I'M THE PRESIDENT OF THE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION IN MY FOURTH YEAR NOW AND A RATTLE TORE. SO, I KNOW BACK IN THE PAST THERE WERE CHALLENGES WE SPOKE ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT WE WOULD KEEP MICHAEL MAYS WE WON HE WOULD GOT TO KEEP IT.

IT WAS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR COMMUNITY.

WE DO NOT WAND TO BE SOUGHT PADRE ISLAND AND BARS UP AND DOWN BUT WE DO NEED THAT TINE OF ATTRACTION.

IT PASTED THE SHORT TERM RENTAL ON THE ISLAND AND IT WAS PART OF MOVING FORWARD THE ISLAND AND CORPUS CHRISTI FORWARD.

AND IF WE'RE GOING TO MOVE FORWARD, REPLACEMENT IN KIND IS GREAT BECAUSE WE NEED THAT HERE BUT REPLACEMENT IN KIND IS NOT THE STEP FORWARD THAT WE NEED. WE NEED AN ATTRACTION HERE ON THE ISLAND. WE'RE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE COMMUNITY AND THE YOU HAVE THE LEXINGTON, THE AQUARIUM.

THERE ARE GREAT ATTRACTIONS BUT HERE WE DON'T HAVE.

WE DON'T HAVE SOMETHING TO ATTRACT THAT'S AN ATTRACTION NUMBER ONE, NUMBER 2, IT GIVES US THE PLACE WHERE PEOPLE AND TOURISTS CAN COME AND HAVE A DREW WATERFRONT EXPERIENCE.

WE DO HAVE DOCKS AND THOSE ARE BAY FRONT.

AND MICHAEL MAYS IS OUR ONLY BULL FRONT ESTABLISHMENT.

THE SECOND FLOOR, THAT'S THE PRESIDENT OF THE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION. WE ARE FIGHTING TO FIND A PLACE TO HOLD MEETINGS AND EVENTS AND WITH THE LACK OF A CONVENTION CENTER THIS IS A WAY TO FILL SO MANY NEEDS.

MAE TALKS ABOUT WEDDINGS AND THAT IS WHAT WE WANT.

WE WANT A PLACE FOR THE LOCALS TO GO AND FOR US TO BE ABLE TOE HOLD MEETINGS AND HOLD EVENTS. I'M COMPLETELY IN SUPPORT OF THE EXTRA $2 MILLION. I THINK THE CITY'S PLANS RIGHT NOW. THEY LOOK GREAT.

BUT IF ONE THING HAS TO BE TAKEN OUT THAT'S THE THING WE

NEED IT FILL AS LOT OF HOLES. >> THANK YOU.

>>> AND MOVE TO MARVIN JONES AND ASK THAT YOU UNMUTE.

>> IT IS STILL ON MOUNT. LET'S SEE.

>> YOU'RE ON NOW, CAN YOU HEAR ME?

>> YES, PROCEED. >> GOOD MORNING.

>> GOOD MORNING TO EVERYONE. I'M MARVIN JONES, I'M THE PRESIDENT OF THE PADRE ISLAND PROPERTY OWNER'S ASSOCIATION.

AND FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT MAY NOT BE FAMILIAR.

WE HAVE 5000 PROPERTIES IN OUR ASSOCIATION.

WHICH LENDS ITSELF TO ABOUT 11 OR 12,000 PEOPLE.

I'M HERE TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF THE RESTAURANT TO ADD A SECOND STORY. WE NEED ACTIVITY CENTER WE NEED ALL THE AMENITIES THAT OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY HAVE THE

[01:10:03]

THE EXPANSION WOULD SERVE A LOT.

I'M HERE TO SUPPORT THE IDEA. I LOOK FORWARD TO IT.

ANYONE ON LINE THAT WISHES TO MAKE A COMMENT?

>> I WILL TAKE US BACK INTO QUESTION PERIOD HERE.

IS THERE ANYTHING AS COMMISSIONER CHESNEY SAID A REMINDER WITH THE TONIGHT'S TOWN HALL WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS AWARENESS AS TO SOME OF THE SLIDES THAT YOU MAY BE SEEING THAT YOU MAY NOT HAVE SCENE BEFORE -- SEEN BEFORE BECAUSE IT REPRESENT AS ROTATION IN FRONT OF YOU A ROTATION OF THE BUILDING AND MAYBE THAT NIGHT PERSPECTIVE.

MOST CERTAINLY, WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS AWARENESS TO THE ADDITIVES HAVING A PRICE TAG WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY PAR FOR THE COURSE. WITH THAT I'M GOING TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS FOR JACOBS AT THIS TIME.

WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE TWO TOWN HALLS AND THE COMMUNITY SURVEY, THAT PIECE OF IT IS GOING TO BE IMPORTANT WE RECEIVED 2500 COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC TO GET US TO THIS POINT SO THE ENGINEER COULD CREATE RENDERINGS.

THEY WERE CREATED FROM VISITING WITH NOT JUST SCOTT CROSS BUT COSTAL PARKS AND THE BOB HALL COMMITTEE.

THERE IS ONE THING YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IS YOU GAVE THAT TO CONNIE. BRING UP THE PRESENTATION FOR TONIGHT I WANT TO RUN THROUGH IT QUICKLY.

THE COMMITMENT IS TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE COMMISSIONERS HAVE AWARENESS BUT IN THE COMMITTEE THERE ARE SUBCOMMITTEES AND THOSE HAVE BEEN HARD AT WORK GETTING TO US THIS POINT AND ACTING LIKE A LIAISON.

THAT CONTINUES. THERE ARE SAFETY PRESEPS.

THESE ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE OUR CHAIR WOMAN IS QUANA DENYSON SHE IS THE PRESIDENT AND THE FOUNDER OF THE SMITH FOUNDATION. , YOU WILL HERE THIS.

KEEP GOING. >> THESE ARE THE PROPOSED LOCATIONS FOR THE CALL TOWERS. IF ANYONE HAS BEEN TO A PARKING LOT OR A UNIVERSITY OR A SPACE.

YOU WILL SEE THEM. EVERYONE KNOWS, HEY.

GET TO THE BLUE BUTTON THERE IS SOMETHING THAT IS A NEXUS BETWEEN FIRST RESPONSE AND THE CALL TOWERS W A THOUSAND LINEAR FEET THAT'S A LONG WAY FROM THE RESTAURANT TO THE END.

GO AHEAD. ANOTHER VISUAL WHAT THEY MAY LOOK LIKE. ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE.

THIS IS NOVEL THEY HAVE KIOSKS FOR SAFETY EDUCATION.

LOCATIONS WILL BE LOCATED HERE.

ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE OF LOCATION.

THIS IS CRITICAL OF SOMETHING THAT I'M CERTAIN THE LIFEGUARDS WILL LOVE THIS CONCEPT THAT IS A PA SYSTEM FOR EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT CONDITIONS. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT THERE IS NOISE AND THE OCEAN IS WONDERFUL IT TAKES YOU AWAY THERE IS A NOISE FACTOR, YOU NEED THE SYSTEM TO SAY, HEY, OUR CURRENTS CHANGED. I HAVE SEEN IT WHERE YOU GO FROM A EP GREEN FLAG DAY FROM THE TIME YOU ARRIVED TO THE MOMENT THAT YOU LEAF. HOW WILL YOU GET THAT INFORMATION OUT. THIS IS A WAY.

>> CONTINUE, PLEASE. >> AND THIS IS THE LOCATION THANKS TO THOSE WHO ARE PART OF THE SUBCOMMITTEE.

LOOK AT THE COMMITTEE THAT HAS PLACED IN.

AND THIS IS ONE OF MANY THAT HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE BOB HALL PROCESS. GO AHEAD.

THIS IS A DIGITAL BILLBOARD. YOU HAVE SEEN THIS AT THE BANK CENTER. THAT'S THE ONE THAT I SEE MOST OFTEN. THESE ARE INCREDIBLE SCREENS THAT ARE ABLE TO DEFUSE THE LIGHT IN A WAY TO BE PERFECTLY SUNNY AND HAVE THE MOST AMAZING VISUALISATION OF IMPORTANT MESSAGING. WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THIS OUT THERE. CAN YOU EMERGENCY WHETHER IT IS A, AS YOU SAID BEACH TO BAY ALL THE WAY TO RIP CURRENTS TO THE

[01:15:01]

ADVERTISEMENT FROM THE CONCESSION NAIR.

IT IS YOUR NEGLIGENCING BOARD AND FOR THE TYPE OF INFORMATION THAT YOU WANT TO PROMPT. KY IMAGINE PIVA WANTING TO SAY THINGS, NOAA WANTING TO SAY THINGS.

OKAY. PLEASE CONTINUE.

>> AGAIN POTENTIAL LOCATIONS FOR VISIBILITY, FOR SUN AND FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO NOT MISS IT, RIGHT? YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THE PUBLIC INFORMATION, REMEMBER HOW MANY PEOPLE DRIVE DOWN OUR BEACHES AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD SEE THIS IF THEY WERE POSITIONED IN THIS WAY.

GO AHEAD. AGAIN THE SPIRIT TODAY WAS WHATEVER WE SHOW YOU HAVE SEEN IT HERE ONCE OR WE HAVE HAD SOME MES OF DIALOGUE ABOUT THE DOLLARS.

WE HAVE NOT GONE INTO THIS YET, I ASSUME IT WILL BE ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS THE FUNDING BUT NO FUNDING IS AYARD THE -- AWARDED WITHOUT INPUT. THE FUNDING REQUIRE PUBLIC COMMENT AND PUBLIC INPUT. IF YOU WANT TO NOISE WHAT THE RECIPE TO BAKING THIS CAKE HAS BEEN EVERY STEP OF THE WAY TO GET TONS OF INPUT. WE HAVE DONE THIS SO RIGHT WHEN IT IS TIME TO APPLY FOR GRANTS, FEDERAL AND STATE, OR PRIVATE FOUNDATION THERE IS A MECHANISM WE HAVE SET WORTH TO SHOWCASE THE JUSTIFICATION AN ANALYSIS OR JUST A PUBLIC VETTING IF YOU DON'T DO THIS ARE YOU DELAYED ANOTHER 6, 8 MONTHS, MAYBE A YEAR. WE HAVE DONE AFTER COMPLETING OUR SURVEY TONIGHT AND EVERYTHING WE HAVE DONE IN ADVANCE WE'RE POSITIONED AND POISED BEAUTIFULLY AS LONG AS WE GET ADVOCACY TO GO AFTER THE DOLLARS SO SOME MAY HAVE A CHANCE OF BEING DONE. SCOTT CROSS.

>> THERE WAS ONE OTHER ELEMENT THAT HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT. I TALKED WITH THE PEOPLE OVER AT CON REGARDED. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU KNOW, IF YOU KNOW THE CONCEPT OF HAVING A RESEARCH STATION ON THE PIER TO DO IMPORTANT OCEAN RESEARCH ON THE GULF OF MEXICO.

THERE IS NO OTHER FACILITY LIKE IT UP AND DOWN THE TEXAS COAST. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE NONE OTHER IN THE GULF OF MEXICO.

I FOUND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT.

I KNOW THERE IS ONE ON IN NORTH CAROLINA ON THE EAST COAST AND ONE ON THE WEST COAST. SO THERE WAS A GAP TO BRIDGE THERE. WHAT I DID.

I TOLD THE FOLKS AT THE INSTITUTE THAT, LOOK, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS LEVEL OF DECISION MAKING IF YOU WANT TO SEE THIS HAPPY AND THAT ELEMENT BE A PART OF THE PIER WHERE THE UNIVERSITIES GO FOR RESEARCH OUT THERE ON THE PIER AND IT IS PHENOMENAL.

NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT. FIND A UNIVERSITY WHO WANTS -- HAS SOME POCKETS TO BRING THE MONEY TO THE TABLE.

THERE IS AN ELEMENT WORKING ON THAT.

I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY ARE ON THAT.

I HOPE TO GET A UPDATE AND I WAS CALLED ABOUT IT AND GET SOME ANSWERS. AND WE'RE GOING TO REBUILD THAT PLATFORM FOR THE NOAA WEATHER STATION OUT THERE AND ABOUT THE SAME FOOT PRINT. SO, I'M -- I'M TRYING TO FIND MY WAY IN TO SOME LEVEL OF NOAA AND SUPPLYING TIM RICHARDSON IN. AND YOU HAD 47 YEARS OF FREE RENT AND ELECTRICITY. COME TO THE TABLE.

HELP US OUT HELP US BUILD THAT ONE ELEMENT.

I'M WORKING ON THAT COMPONENT, TOO.

>> AND THE SOONER WHAT WE WRAP UP WHAT WE CAN BUILD WE CAN START THE PROCESS. WE HAVE TO HAVE THE FINAL FOOT PRINT TO TAKE TO THE COURT AND START GOING THROUGH THAT.

THAT'S ALL I WANTED TO ADD THAT HAD NOT BEEN TALKED ABOUT.

>> IN THE INTEREST OF TIME WE CAN, THIS IS ONE OF THESE ITEMS CAN YOU TALK ABOUT FOR HOURS I WANTED AMPLE INFORMATI INTO TONIGHT. YOU WILL SEE INTEREST THIS EVENING AND TOMORROW IN THE SURVEY.

[01:20:01]

, ANY OTHER? >> NO,.

>> ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? >> I DID GET A CALL, YES, SIR.

>> IT WAS A PERSON INQUIRING HOW CAN THEY GET INVOLVED.

IS THERE ANYTHING LIKE THAT? >> YES, SO I'M GOING TO REFER THAT TO THE COUNTY ATTORNEY TO GIVE YOU THE BACKGROUND ON THE

PROCESS, WE HAVE A CONTRACT. >> I CAN HAVE THE COUNTY

ATTORNEY GIVE YOU THAT. >> NAT FOR CONSTRUCTION THAT

WILL BE BID OUT. >> THAT'S WHAT THE PERSON WAS

ASKING. >> FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OR THE

CONCESSION NARE. >> LIKE MICHAEL MAYS.

>> HE WAS TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE.

>> WE'LL GET YOU THAT INFORMATION.

WHAT THE PROCESS IS, IF THERE IS ANYTHING THEY IT LOOK FOR IT

LATER. >> UNDERSTOOD I'LL HAVE THE COUNTY ATTORNEY GIVE YOU THAT INFORMATION BUT TO CLARIFY THERE IS A CURRENT CONTRACT THAT WE HAVE THAT WAS

COMPETITIVELY BID. >> ALL RIGHT.

>> THANK YOU. >> OKAY.

>> THANK YOU. >>> AND ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? OKAY.

>> THE RESTAURANT AND CONCESSION.

YOU WANT TO BRING THAT MAP UP AGAIN.

LOOK AT THE MAP. , THE COUNTY RAN THE PIER SIDE OF IT AND I DON'T WANT TO GET OUT OF RUNNING THE PIER BECAUSE DALE WILL TELL YOU WE MADE A SOME $60 $60,000 INVESTMENT WHEN WE TOOK THAT OVER. I WAS NERVOUS IT HAS GROSSED ENOUGH REVENUE IT PAYS FOR THE NEXT YEAR'S OPERATING COSTS WE DON'T CARRY A FUND BALANCE THAT IS MOVED OVER TO OFF SET THE GENERAL FUND AND OPERATING ACCOUNT.

MAINTAINING THE RUNNING OF THE PIER, WE NEED TO WE MAKE TOO

MUCH MONEY. >> FOR FISHING AND EVERYTHING.

CONCESSION STAND AND THE STANDARD ARE TWO SEPARATE

THINGS? >> THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN UNDER ONE UMBRELLA. THAT'S ALL ON THE CONCESSION.

WE RUN THE GUARD SHACK FOR GOING IN AND OUT BUYING TACKLE. THEY DO THE RESTAURANT.

DRINKS, THEY HAD A SOUVENIR SHOP UP THERE AS WELL.

DID THAT HELP? >> YES.

>> OKAY. >> DO WE THE SHOP DO WE GET, WE SHARE A PROFIT. WE SHARE A PROFIT IT IS ACROSS THE BOARD. 8%, $12,000 CAP.

WHICH EVER IS HIGHER. THAT'S ON ANYTHING THEY SELL.

>> THE ONLY DIFFERENCE DO YOU MIND OPENING UP THE MAP.

TO ACCOMMODATE OPPORTUNITY AND GROWTH YOU SEE THE LONG THAT SAYS CONCESSIONS, RETAIL AND RESTROOMS, THE ONE -- I WANT TO SHOW HIM, THE UP WITH THING WE NEVER HAD BEFORE WAS ADEQUATE PUBLIC FACILITIES SO THIS ADDRESSES THAT SERIOUS NEED FOR FAMILIES TO HAVE PUBLIC BATHROOMS WITHOUT GOING INTO THE RESTAURANT. YOU HAVE A COMBO OF CONCESSION, RETAIL AND BATHROOM EXHIBITED IN THE RECTANGULAR PORTION AND IT IS RIGHT THERE. THAT IS DIFFERENT THAN THE WAY IT EXISTS TODAY WHICH IS ONE BATHROOM AND THE CONCESSION IS PART OF THE CURRENT RESTAURANT.

SO EVEN THOUGH THE CONTRACT IS THE SAME, THE GEOGRAPHY IS THE SAME AND ACCOMMODATE GROWTH, NEED AND FRANKLIN FRANKLY.

ROOM TO MAKE A PROFIT IN RETAIL AND OR CHIPS, CANDY SUNDRYS.

>> SO JUST THAT EXISTED BEFORE HURRICANE HAN.

THAT CAN YOU BUY ANYTHING FROM A FLOATY TO A CUTE BATHING SUIT TO CHIPS THAT EXISTED. NOW IT HAS A LOCATION TO GIVE

[01:25:02]

THE BATHROOM AS BETTER OPPORTUNITY TO BE GRANDER BECAUSE THE WAY BEFORE WAS LIMITED.

THAT'S WHAT WE HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR MAKE SURE YOU HAVE STRONG PUBLIC BATHROOM FACILITIES. IT HELPS WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT.

ANYTHING FURTHER FOR SCOTT? IF NOT HE CAN COME UP.

WILL YOU STAY UP THERE, PLEASE.

, COMMISSIONER, HE IS DONE. I THOUGHT HE WASN'T DONE.

BY ADDRESSING I'M GOING OVER IT IN MY MIND I'M TRYING TO POINT OUT EVERYTHING WITH BEFORE WE MOVE ON.

THERE WILL BE A DISCUSSION ABOUT THE AMENITIES BUT DISCUSSION ABOUT SOME OF THE THE FF AND E.

THE ACTUAL FURNITURE SO YOU WILL HEAR A LOT OF DETAILS THEY ARE NOT PRICED ON HERE BUT YOU GET TO HAVE SOME INPUT ABOUT WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF WE CAN GET THEM FUNDED ON THINGS LIKE SEATING. ON SHADE STRUCTURE.

YOU KNOW HOW HOT IT CAN BE IN THE SUMMER.

SHADE AND SEATING AND THE I'LL CALL IT THE ENTRANCE.

YOU SAW A RENDERING OF IT BUT AS THE COMMISSIONER SAID YOU WILL SEE THREE TONIGHT. THREE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE ENTRANCE AND OF THE SEATING AND THE SHADE.

THOSE ARE THE OPTIONS NOW IF YOU JUMP ONLINE TONIGHT AND JUST TO, AS THEY SAY, PUT A BUTTON ON IT, A BOW ON IT, THAT WOULD BE A NUECES CO.COM. CAN YOU FIND THE LINK TO THE MEETING ON THE WEB SITE. ON THE BOB HALL PIER AS WELL.

FUTURE BOB HALL PIER IS THE ICON ON THE WEB SITE.

SO IF THE MEDIA HELPS US PUT THAT OUT.

FUTURE BOB HALL PIER IS AN ICON.

PRESS THAT TAB THAT WILL PROMPT THAT LINK.

WE ARE STARTING AT 6 P.M. AB BUT WE'LL REPEAT IT AT 10 A.M.

I NEED TO TALK TO THE AUDIO VIDEO PEOPLE THAT IT WILL BE RECORDED SO THAT WE GET TO REPLAY IT LATER IF YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF IT AND EVEN VIRTUAL DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU.

THE GOAL IS OPEN IT UP SO PEOPLE CAN HEAR ABOUT IT.

PARTICIPATE AND AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS GREAT.

SO YOU WILL, THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS ONLINE.

IF THERE IS NOTHING FURTHER I WILL MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE BECAUSE OF TIME. OKAY.

>> ARE WE BROADCASTING OUT IN THE HALLWAY THERE IS NOTHING

BUT CCTV. >> WE'RE ON THE WEB SITE

AND -- >> THANK YOU.

>> OKAY. >> THANK YOU FOR THAT.

>> OKAY SO IF THAT CONCLUDES NUMBER 2 THEN NUMBER -- ALL THE ITEMS HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED EXCEPT FOR D 1 I WILL OFFER ANYBODY INTERESTED IN DISCUSSING OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS D 1 THAT'S OUR GENERAL, WE ALWAYS HAVE IT IN THERE. DISCUSSES ANY MATTER RELATING TO COVID-19, ARPA, ERAP I CAN GO BACK INTO THE EXECUTIVE SESSION LANGUAGE. ARE THERE ANY ISSUES YOU WILL GET A REPORT ON WEDNESDAY BUT ANY RIGHT NOW.

HEARING NONE IF THAT IS ALL RIGHT.

[01:30:13]

>>> COMING ON THE RECORD AT 1202.

WE'RE BACK FROM EXECUTIVE LEGISLATION A CONSULT NO ACTION TAKEN AT THIS TIME. AND I WILL BRING US BACK INTO RECORD ORDER AND ANNOUNCE I SEE NO OTHER FURTHER COUNTY BUSINESS TO BE CONDUCTED ON THE AGENDA AND THEREFORE I WILL
